Defibrillator installed in Beausale

The parish council has partnered with Kenilworth Runners and Beausale Club to install a defibrillator in Beausale for the use of residents and visitors

Beausale, Haseley, Honiley and Wroxall Parish Council have partnered with Kenilworth Runners to install a defibrillator on the outside wall of Beausale Club in Beausale.

Councillor Janet Gee, chair of the parish council, said ‘We were motivated to install a defibrillator after hearing of a local resident who was told there would be a five hour wait to get an ambulance to them after suffering a heart attack. A defibrillator can make all the difference to survival rates in the critical early stages and this device will not only support local residents but also the many cyclists, runners and walkers that enjoy our parishes’. The parish council also thanked Beausale Club and its trustees for agreeing to locate the defibrillator on its premises and for providing the electricity supply.

Richard Clark, Race Director for Kenilworth Runners, said ‘We donated funds raised from our Kenilworth Half marathon to purchase the defibrillator as a memorial to Matthew Harris who sadly died of a heart attack during the half marathon in 2010 at the age of 23. Beausale is at the half way point of both the Kenilworth and Warwick half marathons with between them over 5000 runners and we hope that this device will add an extra layer of safety for participants’. Kenilworth Runners is a charity and as well as providing a great environment for local people to enjoy running, in 2025 it donated over £68,000 to deserving causes.
